I am a freelance journalist and owner of Dedicated Publication Services, offering editing, manuscript preparation, proposal writing, and other desktop publishing services to businesses and individuals.
Interviews and personality features are a specialty of mine, as is inspirational/devotional writing. I graduated from Baylor University, magna cum laude in 1980 with a BA in journalism and history. I have worked briefly as news editor and feature writer for small independent newspapers in both Texas and Arkansas. Most of my projects have been as a freelancer, and have included writing articles for newspapers, magazines, and websites; writing and editing newsletters for businesses and organizations; editing and preparing manuscripts for publication for businesses and self-publishing authors; and public relations consulting for small businesses, political candidates, and Christian ministries. I have written myriads of press releases in the last 25 years! I am currently publicist for professional magician Bruce Chadwick www.brucechadwick.com
I have several editing projects now, including a children's book series by author Janice S. Bloom. More about me can be found on my blog

I made these animations last year on www.meez.com to represent some of my interests.. The writer me - I think I really looked like this in high school. LOL After posting the above, I came across a picture of me in my high school yearbook taken in the journalism room. What do you think? Did I come close when making my meez? The gardening me: Look at all the flowers I planted! Boy am I tired! The Drama queen me: Always wanted to be an actress. The country-western me: Can't really play a guitar, but I do love CW music and I like to dress with a western flair. The real me - trying to stay in the Word
MUSIC: I like most genres of music, except heavy metal rock. My favorites are Contemporary Christian Worship music, Southern Gospel, and Country Western ballads. I also like show music (musicals, etc.), jazz, classic rock, easy-listening and classical. I like songs that are fun and upbeat. I discovered the project playlist site last year and went crazy creating playlists. Here is the link to my site www.pplaylist.com/user/3333195
There are several songs I put on my playlist with special meaning to me.All the love songs on the list are dedicated to my wonderful husband, who is my partner, my lover, and without a doubt my best friend. In Feb. and March I always put a lot of love songs on my playlist in honor of both Valentines Day and our wedding anniversary in early March. It will be 29 years soon and now that we are "empty nesters" we are like newlyweds again. The BEST is yet to come!
I was named after the song "Tammy" from the movie "Tammy And The Bachelor." My parents heard it played on the radio before the movie even hit theaters and named me after it. Here is a picture of me as a baby. "Letters From War" is for my oldest son now serving in the U.S. Military. Here is a really cool collage photo his wife made for him a few years ago when he was in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.
Other patriotic songs on my list are sent out with love and prayers to all our soldiers who remind us everyday that freedom is seldom free. "When My Baby Plays The Trombone" is for my youngest son, an awesome trombonist and music ed major at TCU. (Just subsitute the word "he" for "she" when you listen to the song.) Can't wait until he uploads some of his own music to the Internet so I can post it on my playlist! Here is one of my favorite pictures of him.
And I will always include one or two songs offered out of a grateful heart to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who redeemed me with the price of His own blood.
This slide show and the song "Angels Among Us" on my playlist is dedicated to my late sister-in-law Janice Marie Hensel who died Dec. 2, 2006. Her loving spirit will never be forgotten.
Watch for my article on the Holistic Garden complex at TAMU in the May issue of Brazos Insite Magazine. I interviewed Dr. Joe Novak who has an amazing vision for ways to use this garden in ways that benefit the whole community.
While I am enjoying the devotional writing I am doing, interview articles are my bread 'n butter, so I hope ya'll enjoy this one.

I just had an article accepted by a trade magazine called Cross & Quill. It is put out by the Christian Writers Fellowship International http://www.cwfi-online.org/, which I recently joined. My article is on tips for the Christian blogger. I'm not sure when it will come out. They just told me sometime in the next 12 months. Will bring a copy to BW meeting when it comes out.
