I'm a retired natural gas industry executive who started a career in the newspaper business (The Philadelphia Inquirer). I ran away from Minnesota home in 1993 in my sailboat, traveled 2,400 miles on the inland water-ways and ended up in Freeport, TX. Got back to writing and in 2004, University of North Texas Press published my book, "Eleven Days in Hell: The 1974 Carrasco Prison Siege in Huntsville, Texas," which won the Violet Crown Award - presented by the Writers League of Texas as the best in Texas non-fiction for 2005. I'm a past-president of the Brazos Writers group and am married to Joyce E. Juntune-Harper, PhD, Texas A&M University. I'm the father of six and grandfather of twelve. What more can I tell you?
